The Latin name of the plant comes from the ancient Greek word "althaino" which means heal. Due to its soothing and healing action, it has been used as a healing herb externally and internally for 3,500 years. Althea was known to Hippocrates, Dioscorides and Galen. Later in the years of Ottoman rule, doctors used it for lung diseases and intestinal inflammation.

Decoction : Emollient soothes laryngitis generally inflammation of the intestines and mouth stomatitis pharyngitis but also inflammation of the urinary system cystitis sandblasting kidney stones. Antitussive especially useful for bronchitis angina but also for simple cough.

Gargles : Helps with tooth abscesses and fights gingivitis and cold sores.

Action Root: Emollient, expectorant, diuretic, suitable for wounds.

Leaves : Laxative, emollient.

Flowers : expectorant.

Basic Ingredients: Asparagine, Mucosal, Polysaccharides, Pectin, Tannins, Flavonoids, Coumarin, Salicylic and other Phenolic Acids.
