Therapeutic properties of ivy leaves:
1. Expectorant properties
• Ivy helps to liquefy mucus and facilitates its expulsion from the bronchi.
• It is often used in cough syrups, especially in cases of bronchitis, laryngitis, and asthma.
2. Anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic properties
• Soothes bronchial spasms and reduces respiratory inflammation.
3. Antimicrobial action
• It has mild antibacterial and antifungal action, useful for external applications on wounds or skin irritations.
4. Dermatological use
• It is used in cosmetics and creams for cellulite, swelling, and varicose veins, due to its toning and tightening action.
5. Antirheumatic properties (external use)
• In the form of a poultice, ivy leaves can help relieve muscle pain and rheumatism.

1. For Cough and Respiratory Problems
✅ Ivy leaf syrup (Expectorant)
Pre-made preparations:
• The safest thing is to get a ready-made herbal syrup from a pharmacy with ivy extract (Hedera helix). It is natural, effective and dosed.
If you want to make it at home (with caution!):
Ingredients:
• 1 handful of dried ivy leaves (or 5-6 fresh leaves, well washed)
• 2 cups of water
• 1 cup of honey
Execution:
1. Boil the leaves over low heat for 10-15 minutes.
2. Strain and add the honey to the hot extract.
3. Store the mixture in a glass jar in the refrigerator.
Dosage: 1 teaspoon 2-3 times a day (for adults only).
