Birch is a species of tree in the Betulaceae family, native to Europe and parts of Asia, although in southern Europe it is found only at higher altitudes.

It stretches as far as Siberia, China and southwest Asia in the mountains of northern Turkey, the Caucasus and northern Iran.

It has been introduced to North America, where it is known as the European white birch, and has existed in some states in the United States and parts of Canada. The tree can also be found in more temperate regions of Australia.

This beautiful tree was known hundreds of years ago for its healing properties.

The people of Siberia considered it the Cosmic Tree and for the Russians it was the symbol of spring.

The Celts considered it the tree of the dead (they covered it with its leaves) but above all they had it as a symbol of transformation because it grew on the highest slopes of all other deciduous trees.
