It is essentially a combination of raw cane sugar crystals with the addition of molasses.
Sugar of all forms comes from sugar beets. The latter are collected, chopped and crushed until they lose all their juice. The syrup is removed from this juice, which is then dried to get the final form of sugar.
It is more aromatic due to the higher amount of molasses, while it also has more nutrients than other types of sugar.
It is the least processed form of sugar, from which a minimal amount of molasses has been rinsed. It is usually derived from sugar cane, not sugar beet as was the case with other species, and contains almost no added chemical preservatives or flavor enhancers.
